Hard to Reach Sites
Although faster fibre connections are becoming more prevalent, some sites are still too far away from existing infrastructure and hard to reach. High excess costs (ECCs) can make connecting a site via traditional methods cost-prohibitive. TNP can draw on its many years’ experience of network engineering to design, install and commission bespoke connectivity solutions for even the most remote of locations.

TNP experience
- Shetland Islands Council WAN – TNP designed, installed and commissioned a wide area network connecting 60 sites across four islands in the most northerly and rural part of the United Kingdom. TNP provided teams of engineers to deploy this network within tight timescales in one of the worst winters in recent records.
- Remote Site – Facing a £100k cost for ECCs to provide a fibre connection, this organisation turned to TNP for assistance. TNP undertook a detailed desktop and on-site survey and designed and installed a radio connection. The site did not have direct line-of-sight, so a further telegraph pole relay was required along with associated external cabinets.
